Located on the banks of a loop of the Dordogne, the commune of Vignonet is located in the southern end of the Jurisdiction. Several hamlets are scattered throughout the plain and particularly on the banks of the Dordogne. The outlying village church has an original interior furniture for the region. From the plain, you will discover a beautiful view on the slopes of the Jurisdiction and the city of Saint-Emilion.
The port of Vignonet was, for its part, a place of commerce that strongly contributed in establishing the reputation of Saint-Emilion, since at least the beginning of the 17th century. The wine of Saint-Emilion was shipped from there but also the stones from the quarries of the Jurisdiction, including those that allowed the construction of the famous Hôtel Pichon in Bordeaux. Nowadays, it remains an exceptional semi-circle panoramic view over the river and its biodiversity.
