The Association

In 1999, the Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion became the first vineyard listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for its cultural landscapes.

The Association Juridiction de Saint-Emilion, Patrimoine Mondial de l’Humanité (Jurisdiction of Saint-Emilion, World Heritage Site) is the guarantor before the State of the listed property and is in charge of its management and development. It has the duty to develop and preserve this cultural, natural and architectural heritage and to enable future generations to continue to write history.

The Association is co-chaired by the Saint-Emilion town hall and the Saint-Emilion Wine Council. Its board of directors is composed of the eight communes of the Jurisdiction, the community of communes of Saint-Emilion and the Saint-Emilion Wine Council.
